Education
Graduate
I am currently working on my Master's degree at California State University at Los Angeles. I am pursuing an M.A. in education, with an option in Computer Education and Technology Leadership. This program is very valuable to me because it deals directly with my chosen profession as a computer Teacher and Technology Coordinator. While at California State University at Los Angeles, I performed an internship with the Alhambra school district. The internship dealt with creating a multi-media lesson plan that integrated technology into a "standard" lesson. The multi-media lesson plan will eventually be posted on the California Technology Assistance Program web site.
Undergraduate
I received my B.S. from California Polytechnic State University at San Luis Obispo. I studied Natural Resource Management with a concentration in Environmental Management. Cal Poly's motto is "learn by doing", and they aren't kidding! While earning my degree, I performed field work in San Luis Obispo, Monterey, Santa Cruz, and Kern Counties. My senior project was a study of the Pajaro River Watershed, located south of Santa Cruz. Part of my project involved creating maps of the watershed which were eventually used by the Pajaro River Watershed Planning Committee.
High School
I went to Loyola High School, right here in Los Angeles. Loyola is a private Catholic school that was founded in 1865 by the Jesuits. While attending Loyola, I played water polo and I swam.

Future Plans
I am currently studying to obtain a Masters Degree in Education from California State at Los Angeles. After graduating, I plan to obtain both a teaching credential and an administrative credential. I also believe that it is vitally important that I keep up to date with the newest educational technology. The software and hardware that are used in my classes usually lasts about three years.
As a technology teacher, I must be flexible and willing to adapt to change in order to be successful. It is important for my students to be familiar with the newest applications because those are the tools that they will be using in college. If I decide that I do not want to change, then my students will suffer the consequences.
Over the next few years, my goal is to stay current with the new technology that is emerging as well as the new instructional techniques. New uses for the internet and computer tools in the classroom are constantly being developed and some of these methods could be of great benefit to my students.
